THE 9TH ANNUAL BLAZER BOLT FOR BRAIN CANCER

Thank you to all who participated in the 9th annual Blazer Bolt for Brain October 15, 2022 in Homewood, AL including 40 teams and 600 registrants -124 of whom participated virtually.

Thank you to our simultaneous Blazer Bolt Eufaula Run! Over 150 people participated in the Eufaula race.

The Gardner, Mock, and Dixon families helped organize the Eufaula! We are so grateful to our patients, their loved ones and those supporting them at home and in the clinic for making this event possible.

who we are

Blazer Bolt, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization whose annual event is the Blazer Bolt for Brain Cancer. This race was created entirely to support those who are battling brain cancer. All proceeds will directly benefit the University of Alabama Birmingham Division of Neuro Oncology and Children’s of Alabama Neuro Oncology for research of adult and pediatric brain cancer as well as patient support services. Patients, family, and friends will enjoy a flat, fast 5 K course through the scenic Homewood neighborhoods in late autumn starting at 8:00 A.M. and a 1 mile fun run/walk at 9:00 A.M..

about brain cancer & metastatic disease

The brain and spinal cord make up the central nervous system (CNS). Brain and spinal cord tumors are growths of abnormal cells in tissues of the brain or spinal cord. Tumors that start in the brain are called primary brain tumors. A tumor that starts in another part of the body and spreads to the brain is called a metastatic brain tumor.
